586 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths

JAMMU, Oct 23: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday recorded 586 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 90,752, while 12 fatalities took the death toll to 1,424, officials said.
Out of the fresh cases, 206 are from Jammu and 380 from the Kashmir Valley, they said.
Srinagar district reported the highest number of 154 new COVID-19 cases, followed by 121 in Jammu district, the officials said.
There are 7,842 active covid-19 cases, while 81,486 patients have recovered so far, they said.
Meanwhile, 12 deaths took place in the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir - four in Jammu region and eight in the valley - taking the death toll to 1,424, the officials said.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 90752 positive cases, 7842 are Active Positive, 81486 have recovered and 1424 have died; 472 in Jammu division and 952 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 2125790 test results available, 2035038 samples have been tested as negative till October 23, 2020.
Till date 639551 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19395 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7842 in isolation and 50024 in home surveillance. Besides, 560866 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 18401 positive cases (including 154 cases reported today) with 1829 Active Positive, 16230 recovered (including 123 cases recovered today), 342 deaths; Baramulla has 5492 positive cases (including 40 cases reported today) with 1404 Active Positive, 3950 recovered (including 27 cases recovered today), 138 deaths; Pulwama reported 4527 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today) with 274 active positive cases, 4174 recovered (including 39 cases recovered today), 79 deaths; Kulgam has 2443 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 109 Active Positive, 2288 recoveries (including 09 case recovered today), 46 deaths; Shopian has 2140 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 63 Active Positive, 2042 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today) and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4135 positive cases (including 49 cases reported today) with 369 Active Positive, 3693 recovered (including 23 cases recovered today), 73 deaths; Budgam has 5786 positive cases (including 41 cases reported today) with 350 Active Positive and 5345 recovered (including 46 cases recovered today), 91 deaths; Kupwara has 4205 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 361 Active Positive, 3773 recovered (including 20 cases recovered today), 71 deaths; Bandipora has 3933 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 262 Active Positive, 3626 recovered (including 11 cases reported today), 45 deaths and Ganderbal has 3408 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 240 active positive cases, 3136 recoveries (including 21 cases recovered today) and 32 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 16676 positive cases (including 121 cases reported today) with 935 active positive cases, 15495 recoveries (including 137 cases recovered today), 246 deaths; Rajouri has 3159 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 208 active positive cases, 2906 recovered (including 37 cases recovered today), 45 deaths; Ramban has 1544 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 92 active positive, 1440 recoveries and 12 deaths; Kathua has 2368 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 44 Active positive, 2294 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Udhampur has 2620 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 123 active positive cases, 2469 recovered (including 09 cases reported today) and 28 deaths; Samba has 2118 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 355 Active Positive, 1738 recoveries (including 56 cases reported today) and 25 deaths; Doda has 2571 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 159 active positive cases, 2369 recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Poonch has 2184 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 359 active positive, 1803 recoveries (including 56 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1218 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 105 active positive, 1106 recoveries and 07 deaths while Kishtwar has 1824 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today), with 201 active positive cases and 1609 recoveries (including 28 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.
According to the bulletin, of the total 90752 positive cases in J&K 9529 have been reported as travellers while 81223 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 1037 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 100 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1716 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 118 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3651 COVID dedicated beds, 3367 Isolation beds with 2753 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 218 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
