Jammu, Jan 11: As the UT prepares for one of their favourite festivals this harvest season, 92.7 BIG FM has once again celebratedthe festival Lohriin a unique way for its listeners and proved why they are Jammu's pioneers when it comes to standing for impactful radio and living their tagline "Dhun Badal Ke Dekho". In its eighth edition of the successful Kudiyan Di Lohri, hundreds of Jammu families registered for celebration of this festival with Big FM RJs - RJ Juhie and RJ Rahul.
Traditionally, families that have witnessed the birth of a boy child celebrate the little boy's pehli Lohri with an extra dose of enthusiasm and grandeur. 92.7 BIG FM endeavours to engage its listeners and infuse a new spirit and new perspective into the festival by celebrating the birth of a girl child in the family in an equally BIG way. 92.7 BIG FM invited families that have been blessed with a baby girl during the year that has gone by and celebrate their little girl's pehliLohri with the same enthusiasm and fervour.
Area Manager BIG FM, J&K Mr Vikrant Sharma informed that the RJs requested their listeners to send registrations for their daughters and hundreds of registrations were received. It was difficult to chose a few families and thus, the names had to be chosen through a lucky draw. The best part was that this year there were registrations from even those districts that are beyond FM's reach like Reasi, Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar etc. and this is a positive sign and also the power of Big FM's digital reach. He also thanked the supporters who decided to associate themselves with this 'DhunBadlo" noble initiative towards gender-equality. He expressed his gratitude to their Beauty Partner Gautam Bali Make Up Studio and Academy; Associate Partner Rasalika-Food, Sweets, Bakery; Digital Partner Jammu Links News; Photography Partner Shutterflame & Auto Partner Fairdeal Motors.
"RJ Juhie and RJ Rahul visited a few families and tried to make the celebration grand. Since these are not normal times as we are in the middle of a pandemic, so the Covid SOPs were kept in place while their visit and also a virtual celebration has also been planned this year", said Mr Sidharth Mahajan, Station Head Big FM Jammu. The registered families will also get to celebrate online and also win lots of exciting prizes apart from meeting the 'face of the campaign', film and television actress Sameksha Oswal.
A special 'Kudiyan Di Lohri' song will also release today on Big FM radio and social media platforms. Noted lyricists Sukhvir Sukhhas beautifully written the song and also lent it his voice along with North India's singing sensation Sonali Dogra. A live concert has also been planned for the Lohri Day. Jammu's most loved FM Station is actually geared up to fully entertain and enthral the Jammuites while keeping the tradition alive.
