Jammu, Jan 13: In the face of adversity, we have a choice; we can be bitter, or we can be better". Keeping in view the same fortitude and zest, 2 J&K Girls Bn undertook the initiative of organizing the Annual Training Camp (J4) exclusively for the Junior & Senior Wing girl cadets from diverse educational establishments.
The duration of this camp is from 12 Jan to 18 Jan 2021 and is being conducted at Camping Ground, Nagrota. 2 J&K Girls Bn firmly believe that the challenge and adversity are meant to help you know who you are. Storms hit your weakness, but unlock your true strength.
A colossal partaking was seen on the reporting day of the camp wherein more than 320 girl cadets reached the camp site with their respective ANOs (Associate NCC Officers). Amidst the pandemic phase, major plunge is being given on COVID-19 protocols so as to ensure safety of the attendees.
The opening day started off with the arrival of cadets to the camping site, where separate locations were allocated to them following the social distancing norms. As a pre-requisite for the allotment of the barracks, all the cadets went through a Rapid-Antigen Test for COVID which was again conducted in a phased manner so as to avoid any form of congestion. The testing team was headed by Mr Rishi Kumar and Mr Vikas Gupta from Primary Health Centre, Block Dansal.
After that the cadets moved to their allotted barracks and prepared themselves for the day's schedule. The cadets thereafter, reassembled in their crisp uniforms & marched diligently to witness the opening address by the Camp Commandant, CO 2 J&K Girls Bn, Jammu.
The Commanding Officer, in his address, welcomed the fervent cadets, and emphasized on the need to abide by the Standard COVID Protocols without any infringe. Furthermore, he enlightened the cadets to practice personal hygiene & sanitation and also acquainted them with the major takeaways from this camp so as to boost the morale of the promising cadets.
The camp routine will be followed strictly by adopting requisite behaviors such as frequent hand washing and practicing social distancing.
A Caretaker Orientation Course will sprint concurrent to this camp wherein 15 NCC caretaker officers hailing from Jammu, Kathua, Poonch and Udhampur districts will undergo the pre commission orientation course. This course has been planned to prepare the newly appointed NCC In-charges for Pre Commission Course to be held at OTA Kamptee and OTA Gwalior.
