J&K records 121 new coronavirus cases, no deaths reported


JAMMU, Jan 13: Jammu and Kashmir did not record any coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours but 121 new positive cases took the number of infected people to 1,22,885, officials said on Wednesday.
Out of the fresh cases, 55 were from Jammu division and 66 from Kashmir division of the union territory, they said. The officials said Jammu district recorded the highest of 47 cases followed by 35 in Srinagar district.
Anantnag, Kulgam, Poonch, Ramban, Reasi and Kishtwar did not report any fresh cases, while 12 districts recorded fresh cases in single digits, the officials said.
The number of active cases dropped to 1,629 in the union territory, while 1,19,344 patients have recovered so far, they said. As no fresh death due to coronavirus was reported in the past 24 hours, the death toll in the union territory stayed at 1,912.
The Bulletin further said that out of 4164847test results available, 4041962 samples have been tested as negative till 13th January, 2021.
Till date 973732 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 32891persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1629 in isolation and 36032 in home surveillance. Besides, 901268 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 25697 positive cases (including 35 cases reported today) with 198 Active Positive, 25047 recovered (including 35 cases recovered today), 452 deaths; Baramulla has 8047 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 65 Active Positive, 7810 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today), 172 deaths; Budgam reported 7690 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 64active positive cases, 7515 recovered (including 10cases recovered today), 111 deaths; Pulwama has 5651 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 97 Active Positive, 5466 recoveries (including 08 cases recovered today), 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5607 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 80Active Positive, 5433 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today) and 94 deaths; Anantnag district has 4836 positive cases with 55 Active Positive, 4697 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 84 deaths; Bandipora has 4675 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 40 Active Positive and 4574 recoveries(including 03 cases recovered today), 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4541positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 86 Active Positive, 4409 recoveries and 46deaths; Kulgam has 2672 positive cases with 47 Active Positive, 2572 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths while as Shopian has 2536 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 84 active positive cases, 2413 recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today)and 39 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 24475 positive cases (including 47 cases reported today) with 440 active positive cases, 23670 recoveries (including 57 cases recovered today), 365 deaths; Udhampur has 4172 positive cases (including 01casereported today) with 90 active positive cases, 4025 recoveredand 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3862 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today)with 38active positive, 3769recoveries (including 11 cases recovered today) and 55 deaths; Doda has 3425 positive cases (including 01casereported today) with 33 Active positive, 3328 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today)and 64 deaths; Kathua has 3241 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 11 active positive cases, 3180recovered (including 02 cases recovered today) and 50 deaths; Samba has 2807 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 149 active positive cases, 2619 recoveries and 39 deaths;Kishtwar has 2729 positive cases with 08Active Positive, 2699 recoveries and 22 deaths; Poonch has 2469 positive cases with 29 active positive, 2416 recoveriesand 24 deaths; Ramban has 2120 positive caseswith 10 active positive, 2089 recoveriesand 21 deaths while Reasi has 1633 positive cases with 05 active positive cases, 1613 recoveries and 15 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 122885 positive cases in J&K, 11407 have been reported as travellers while 111478 as others. The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1321 COVID dedicated beds, 1185 Isolation beds with 1154 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 111 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds,2197 Isolation beds where 1981 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 127 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3666 COVID dedicated beds, 3382 Isolation beds with 3135 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 238 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
