Mega job fair organised at Govt Polytechnic Jammu

Jammu, Jan 15: Mega Job Fair was inaugurated today by Principal Secretary, Skill development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon. The Mega Job fair was organised by Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu in its campus here in which more than 1200 students of Polytechnic/ITI participated. More than 35 Multi-National companies, local industries participated to hire the Diploma Polytec-hnic and ITI students.
Dr Samoon was accompanied by Director Skill Development, Sajjad Huss-ain Ganaie, Dr. M Y Peerz-ada Director Higher Educ-ation, Ms. Anoo Malhotra, Director of Industries & Commerce, Er Arun Bang-otra, Principal, Govt. Polyt-echnic Jammu, Mr Adil, Director Tulas Institute, Dehradun and other officers of the department.
Dr Samoon lauded the efforts of the Government Polytechnic Jammu administration for conducting Mega Job fair in the times of Covid pandemic. He laid stress upon the various challenges a student faces in seeking job & also encouraged them to convert the said challenges into fruitful opportunities by continuous hard work & dedication. He further said that this Mega job fair will adopt an integrated approach in addressing the employment and employability issues by making jobs available to the candidates according to their potential & educational qualification. He added amid our high unemployment, employers still face challenges filling the technical & skilled jobs & such job fairs can help to overcome this talent paradox. Speaking on the occasion, Director Skill development, also briefed about the various aspects of skill development department and the latest updates in terms of skill add-on courses the department is providing along with three-year diploma courses. He said that the job fair will be the platform for students to meet their future sponsors and the various company representatives.
Other present on the occasion were Er. Ritu Jamwal, Principal, Women Polytechnic Jammu, Er Rajinder Gupta, Principal, ITI Jammu, Rajesh Gupta, Supdt Women ITI, Jammu, Er Inderjeet Singh, Er Kuldeep Bhatia, Ar Ritika Wadera, Sanjay Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Ms Vinay Gupta, Mr Tariq Amin, Er Zia-ul Haq Kohli, Mr Rajeev Kohli, all staff and students of the college.
