JAMMU, Jan 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre is committed to the welfare of farmers of the country, senior BJP leader Sham Lal Langer said today, as he came down heavily on the rattled opposition parties for misleading farmers' community of the country for their personal political benefits.
"As can be seen by everyone, the pro-people policies of the current dispensation at the Centre have benefitted every section of the society ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government took over in 2014," said Langer.
"It was only due to the concern this government had for the farmers that for the first time in history, Rs 6000 are being deposited in the bank accounts of tens of lakh of farmers every year. Continuing the same series of welfare measures, this government brought in three farm laws to carry out the long pending reforms in the agriculture sector but the opposition parties started misleading farmers on these laws,"
he said.
Langer said that the truth remains that the massive developmental push given by the Modi government has surpassed the work done by the other governments in the past 70 years.
"The opposition parties have lost their relevance due to the pro-policies adopted by the BJP government.
Their political ships are sinking.
However, what is unfortunate is that these parties in their desperation are stooping so low as in to mislead the Annadatas of this country," Langer lashed out at the Opposition parties.
