Court grants eight days police remand of arrested Militant

Jammu, Apr 8: Special Judge NIA Sunit Gupta grants eight day police remand of Shaid Naveed who was arrested by the NIA today from Airport. Today NIA produced Shaid Naveed seeking remand for a period of eight days.
Court on perusal and consideration of CD files, it transpires that the above said case was registered under section 121, 122, 295 of Indian Penal Code; sections 16, 18 & 20 of UA (P) Act; section 3 & 4 of Explosive Substance Act and 8, 21, & 22 of NDPS Act, related to recovery of arms, ammunition, explosive and narcotics in the area of Mendhar of Poonch District.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of present case, gravity of offences as involved in the present matter, submission made by the CIO of NIA and the stage of investigation, Court is of the opinion that custodial interrogation is required and grants 8 days police remand.
