Bali pays tributes to Dr Ambedkar

JAMMU, Apr 14: Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Bali Bhagat today appealed to the people to come forward and avail the multiple schemes launched by the Central Government in the name of Bharat Ratna B. R Ambedkar especially for the welfare of weaker sections of the society.
Addressing gathering as Chief Guest during a function to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti as 'Samarasta Diwas' at Lower Roop Nagar here today, the senior BJP leader said that the birth anniversary of framer of the Indian Constitution is no less than a festival for the people of this nation and deserves to be celebrated with full enthusiasm and reverence.
Bali Bhagat said that it was due to his extraordinary acumen and qualities that Ambedkar remained British India's Minister of Labour in Viceroy's Executive Council, a member of the Constituent Drafting Committee, independent India's first Minister of Law and Justice, and is considered to be the chief architect of the Constitution of India. Moreover, he was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables, he asserted.
Bali Bhagat emphasized that Dr Ambedkar was a strong votary of social equality for all sections especially the downtrodden and weaker sections and honouring the huge contributions of the great leader the Union Govt has launched a number of schemes in the name of Babasaheb for the needy and weaker section people. He said that the birth anniversary of this great leader is being observed at national level as 'Social Equality Day' and is being celebrated with full enthusiasm and patriotic fervour in all the JMC wards of Raipur Domana Constitu-ency.
He said that Ambedkar fought for achieving equality and justice to all sections of the society and the Bharatiya Janata Party stands resolute towards this cause.
Paying rich tributes to Ambedkar, Bali Bhagat yet again expressed gratitude to the Union Govt as well as the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration for declaring the birth day of the framer of Indian constitution as a holiday.
He appealed to the party cadre to organize programmes at all levels to make the people aware about the welfare schemes launched by the BJP government for the weaker sections.
