Apni Party celebrates birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar

JAMMU, Apr 14: Apni Party today celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar at their party office in Gandhi Nagar.
In a statement to the press, to mark the celebration of Dr Ambedkar's birth anniversary, SC State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat and OBC State Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra organized the function at the Party Office where the contribution of Dr BR Ambekar was remembered.

In his address, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra said that the freedom of speech and expression which is guaranteed in the constitution of the country has not been given importance nowadays.
"There is a general feeling among the people that the times have changed and dissent voices are not given heed and instead, they are being seen as otherwise which is unfortunate," said Malhotra.
He said that the constitution given to the country by Dr BR Ambedkar has given equality to everyone without any bias on the basis of caste, creed, religion or region.
Meanwhile, Provincial President, Manjit Singh highlighted the importance of celebrating the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar and constitutional values for the downtrodden section of society.
Since independence of the country, Manjit Singh said that the OBC community is still struggling to get their reservation rights fulfilled in J&K. "The 27% reservation which they enjoy in the rest of the country is being denied in J&K," said Manjit Singh and added that the OBC should be given 27% reservation in Jammu and Kashmir so that the neglected community can get constitutional rights which is guaranteed by Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma said that the Constitution of India has given equal constitutional rights to the women in all the professions.
