Ambedkar Birth Anniversary Commemorated by JKPCC

Jammu, Apr 14: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Con-gress Committee has paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratan Dr. Bhim Rao Amb-edkar on his 130th Birth Anniversary.
The function was attended by Senior Congress leaders of the party including PCC Vice Presidents Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan General Secretaries Yogesh Sawhney), Th. Manmohan Singh, Ex-MLAs Th. Shiv Dev Singh, Indu Pawar, DCC President Hari Singh Chib, Krishan Lal Gupta, Shashi Sharma, Manjit Singh Jatt, Suresh Dogra, Rajvir Singh, Col Swarn Singh, Sanjeev Panda, Madan Lal Malagar, Dr. R.K. Khajuria, Kewal Krishan Jogi, Vijay Sharma, Pawan Dev, Atul Sharma, Chander Sheikhar, Rakesh Sharma, Surjit Kumar, Jagdish Kumar, Vimal Pandita, Jugal Sharma, Jagdish Kashap, Gharu Ram, Nipon Gandhi, Ajay Kumar, Yash Pal Sangra, Chander Kumar, Som Nath Verma, Mani Ram, Bharat Dogra, Harish Pasar, Mohan Lal, Pawan Kumar, Raju and others.
Paying floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mula Ram remembered the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar during freedom struggle & post independence era. After India gained independence in 1947, Ambe-dkar accepted Congress' proposal to serve as the country's first Law Minister and was appointed chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee on 29 August, 1947. On 26 Nove-mber 1949, the Constit-ution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly. He said that Indian constitution formed under his chairmanship, is one of the best document in the World which takes care of the aspirations of the largest pluralistic society in the World. He was messiah of the poor and downtrodden in the country and dedicated his life for their upliftment and social integration by protecting their interests in the constitution.
Former Minister and Vice President PCC Raman Bhalla recalled Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his relentless efforts for the rights of the under privileged sections of the society and to get them their constitutional rights in every sphere of life on the principle of equality. The Indian Constitution is a unique document representing the pluralistic character of our Country. He will always be remembered for his pivotal role in formulating the Constitution of India, the largest democracy of the World. Sh. Bhalla also cautioned the people against the designs of anti-social and anti national forces and lashed out the present dispensation in the country for their failure to check such forces.
