22 different vehicles involved in illegal mining seized

Jammu, Apr 17: A multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police to curb the menace of illegal mining has been taken. Based on specific inputs various police teams of P/S Arnia, P/S RS Pura and P/S Miran Sahib were constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan. The teams led by SHO P/S Arnia Inspr. Harjeet Singh, SHO P/S RS Pura Inspr. Jai Pal Sharma and SHO P/S Miran Sahib Inspr. Sultan Mirza raided Badyal Tawi area and seized 17 different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
On seeing swift action of Police, accused along with their supporters pelted stones on police parties thereby injuring Police personels. Four Police personnel along with a probationary sub inspector got injured who were evacuated immediately for medical treatment. Subsequently FIR no 70/2021 under
relevant sections of IPC and Mining Act was lodged at Police station RS Pura.
Police is raiding different locations to arrest the absconding accused.
A similar action has been taken by SHO P/S Akhnoor Inspr. Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial where 5 different vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized. The vehicles seized have following registration numbers: JK11D-0085, JK02AR-0511, JK12-7246, JK11B-6385, JK11D-4455
The mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&k. In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police is firm to take strict action.
