PIB Jammu organizes Webinar on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav’

Jammu, Apr 19: Press Information Bureau, Mini-stry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organized a webinar today on "Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav" with a special focus on the contribution of freedom fighters, their role during the freedom struggle of India against the mighty British colonial rule.
In her keynote address, Ms. Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) J&K and PIB Jammu highlighted the role of freedom fighters, moderates and revolutionaries during the freedom struggle of India and said that the biggest aim of conducting this webinar is to spread information about the freedom movement in India. The contribution of everyone is important during the freedom movement be that the farmers, tribals, industrialists, students, women etc and it's a duty to inform about them to the common masses so that they would be able to understand that this freedom is achieved after a great struggle, she added. Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag while speaking on the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom movement of India said that his contribution during the freedom struggle of India is immense, be that his Satyagrahas during Non-Cooperation Movement, Civil Disobedience Move-ment, Champaran Satyag-raha, Kheda Satyagraha etc. Our nation owes a debt to him for this contribution which can never be repaid, he added.
Shri Khurshid Yousuf, Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur while throwing light on the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose said that Netaji was a champion of freedom struggle in India who not only inspired this country but the entire world. Being an ICS Officer, he was not accustomed to a life of comfort and amenities but was a warrior who fought against the mighty British Empire.
In charge FOB, Rajouri, Shri Gurnaam Singh highlighted the contribution of Shaheed Bhagat Singh during the freedom struggle and said that his sacrifice will always be remembered by generations to come. Paying tribute to him, Shri Singh said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh was a revolutionary who did not care for his life but for the nation he sacrificed his life for.
In his address, Vijay Matoo, in charge FOB, Kathua highlighted the role of Sardar Vallabhai Patel during the freedom struggle of India and said that his contribution has been written in the golden words especially his contribution after the independence of India in the integration of princely states.
During the webinar, the artists of Regional Outreach Bureau, Jammu performed live and sung many patriotic songs which enthralled the audience.
