Martyr Gurdeep Singh Soni remembered for his sacrifice

Vijaypur, Jul 26: Apni Party, Provincial President, and Former Minister, Manjit Singh remembered Kargil war heroes to mark the celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
In a statement to the press, a function was organised to remember Gurdeep Singh Soni, a soldier, who fought bravely and laid down his life, while fighting the enemy on the mountains of Kargil. The army contingent led by Major Anisoor of 7 JAK Rifles gave salute to the martyr Soni's at his memorial in presence of the family members of the martyr soldiers, and prominent people of the area at Sheikhupura Palota, Ramgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Singh said that remembering the martyrs is important for the existence of any society.
"The soldiers who fight for the protections of the people and the borders of the nation. We feel safe at home because of our defense forces. They are torch bearers of the nation who lay down their lives for our protection," he said.
He said that "Kargil war was an eye opener for the enemy and a proud moment for everyone in the country even as the intruders had advantageous positions yet our brave hearts successfully captured hills in Kargil."
