Thakur to address world on Cultural Diplomacy of India

Port Louis, Sept 19: Balwant Thakur who is currently the Cultural Diplomat of India to Mauritius is going to be the first Indian cultural personality to address the global audiences on India cultural diplomacy. In a joint initiative of Singapore Sangam, Darshan New Zealand, Casa the India- Portugal, High Commission of India Mauritius and National Institute of Open Schooling, Ministry of Education Government of India, a global platform is being created to deliberate on India's global presence through cultural initiatives. Balwant Thakur will be the key speaker in this International symposia which is being held on 21st of September at 3 pm IST. With country's highest accomplishments like National Academy Award, Padamshree, Tagore Samman, Abhinayak Samman, Sanskriti Award and longest ever tenure as cultural administrator, Balwant Thakur's presentation is expected to elevate further the pride and prestige of India. The nodal agency of the event National Institute of Open schooling has more than 7500 study centres world over with 5 lakh enrolled students. Indian diplomatic initiatives in the field of culture have not only established India as 'Vishav Guru' but also has promoted Hindi globally. The 22nd edition of the world language database has already declared Hindi as the 3rd most spoken language of the world.
Balwant Thakur as the Cultural Diplomat of India to South Africa also took huge initiatives to promote Hindi through music, dance, theatre and showcasing of Bollywood. Interestingly Bollywood has played a key role in propagation of Hindi. Hindi songs have played a very important role in taking Hindi world over. Balwant Thakur's presentation will also cover the magic of music, dance theatre and film in spreading the cultural wings of India globally.
