Govt sponsored welfare schemes do not reach SC, OBC people

JAMMU, Sep 20: Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh, today said that the Govt sponsored schemes for the welfare of the Schedule Caste and OBC people fail to reach the deserving people.
Addressing the joining programmeorganised by Sardeesh Rana, General Secretary, Jammu Urban in which over three dozen people joined Apni Party, Manjit Singh said that the SC and OBC people have remained neglected with regard to the schemes for their development and upliftment.
He said that it was unfortunate to note that the departments which have responsibility to implement the welfare schemes on the ground for the neglected section of society do not work appropriately and it finally affects the people who are already economically, socially and educationally backward.
"The SC and OBC people are still backward and they need special attention from the Govt," he said and added that Apni Party is committed for their upliftment whether it is socially, politically and educationally.
He said that if the Apni Party comes to power, the weaker section of society will receive special attention irrespective of their caste, creed, religion or region.
"We believe in unity and equality in society and of Jammu and Kashmir," he said, and added that the Govt should restore Statehood to J&K the common demand of the Jammu and Kashmir region.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion includes SC State Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat, OBC State Coordinator, Madan Lal Chalotra, President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, District Secretary, Abhishek Gosw-ami, District President Youth Wing, Jammu Rural Shivam Choudhary and others.
