DGP sanctions financial assistance to NoK of slain policemen

Srinagar, Sep 21: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 4.50 lakh in favour of next of kin (NoK) of martyrs of J&K Police Personnel (PP) and Special Police Officer (SPOs) who laid down their lives in the militancy-related incidents during the period 2020-August 2021. A police spokesman said this evening that DGP has sanctioned Rs 1.50 lakh in favour of NoK's of such 15 police personnel/SPOs. He has also sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 3.25 lakh in favour of retired and NoK's of deceased police personnel. He said a financial assistance of Rs 10 thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of NoK's of martyrs Inspector (Inspts) Mohammad Ashraf, and Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, Selection Grade Constables (SgCts) Manzoor Ahmad, and Mohammad Yousf, Constables (Cts) Altaf Hussain, Ashfaq Ahmad, Suhail Mushtaq, Rameez Raja, Showkat Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Javid Hussain, and Nissar Ahmad, SPOs Mohammad Altaf, Shafat Nazir Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat. The amount has been given out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.
The amount will be presented to them on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, being observed on October 21, 2021.
