Mayor inaugurates Deluxe Sulabh Toilet Complex at Channi Himmat

Jammu, Jan 20: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, the Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta alongwith Sh. kavinder Gupta, Former Deputy Chief Minister J&K today inaugurated a deluxe sulabh toilet Complex within the premises of Greenland park situated at sec.6 Channi Himmat Jammu in ward no.50.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals as well as morning/evening walkers who visits in the park on daily basis as there is no such civic facility in the nearby locality for the convenience of the persons especially females and after the hectic efforts of the concerned councilor, this much needed toilet complex has been inaugurated today & thrown open for the general public and has been constructed under Swacch Bharat Mission with an estimated cost of Rs 10.50 lacs by JMC alongwith Sulabh international social service organization (SISSO) on pay & use basis and will be maintained by SISSO for the next ten years. This deluxe toilet complex consists of separate units for males and females with bathrooms as well as a care taker room.
Mayor appreciated the work done by SISSO throughout India including J&K regarding providing better sanitation services and said that some more deluxe Sulabh Toilet Complexes will be commissioned in Jammu in future also on public demands.
On this occasion, Hardeep singh Mangotia Chairman , Swacch Bharat Committee, Raj kumar Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee, Ajay kumar Gupta Chairman Social justice committee, Madam Neena Gupta councilor of ward no.50 and other prominent inhabitants of Channi Himmat as well as S. Harvinder Singh Executive Engineer alongwith his supervisory staff of division V , Anil Kumar Singh Director, A.K Mishra and other representatives of Sulabh International Social Service organization of J&K were remained present during the function which was organized in a very simple manner keeping in view the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
