DC Reasi urges stakeholders to make cleanliness a mass movement in rural areas under SBM

Activities under Swachhta campaign intensified in Agar Jitto Panchayat

REASI, May 14: District Development Commissioner, Reasi Babila Rakwal has appealed to people and stakeholder departments to coordinate in making the Cleanliness campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission a mass movement, particularly in rural areas.
She was speaking at a Grievance Redressal Camp at Panchayat Ghar Aghar Jitto of Block Katra after listening to the issues and demands of the PRIs and general public of the area. The main focus of the programme was to highlight and set in motion activities under the Swacch Bharat Mission SBM campaign.
The event was conducted in the same complex where the Solid waste Manage-ment Shed had been constructed by the rural development department a few years back. The local PRIs and members of self help groups were acquainted with scientific segregation of Solid Waste to promote wealth from waste techniques.
"We want to see Panchayat Aghar Jitto leading the district in terms of Solid Waste management. For the purpose the survey of all the households of the Panchayat has already been completed and Expression of Interest (EOI) was floated where in party had agreed to pick up the Solid waste from the village households which will pave the way for Swacch gram and Swacch Bharat" she said. The DC further appealed to the gathering to uphold to Indian values of Shramdan to keep our surroundings neat & clean for a healthy and prosperous life".
