DDC discusses modalities for improving Good Governance Index ranking in Rajouri
Asks for evolving prompt, hassle-free public service delivery mechanism

RAJOURI, May 19: District Development Com-missioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today asked for evolving a prompt, smooth and hassle-free public service delivery mechanism in the district. He was chairing a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the modalities for improving the ranking of the district on the Good Governance Index.
Officers who attended the meeting included GM DIC, Ashwini Sharma; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; CAO, Sohan Singh; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; DSEO, Sandeep Sharma; LDM, Jyoti Prakash Sharma; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; AD Planning, Mohd Rafi and other concerned officers.
Addressing the officers, the DDC said that the Good Governance Index was a uniform tool to assess the status of Governance and the impact of different interventions of the Government in the larger public interest. He said that the performance of the departments was being measured on the parameters of the Good Governance Index, which needs to be taken in consideration. He asked the officers to analyse the last ranking of the district on the Good Governance Index and address the gaps by devising a multipronged strategy to achieve the desired results.
The DDC also maintain-ed that the quantity & quality of each work is being monitored and asked them to take effective measures to develop a prompt, smooth & hassle-free public service delivery mechanism.
