Growing commercial impact on medical education

05/07/2022

Today, there are 604 medical colleges in the country, enrolling 90,675 students. Of these, 290 are government colleges and 265 are private. There are also 49 deemed medical university level institutions related to medicine in the country. It is good that the planning department of the country should think about the health of the people of the country and show its activism. Of course, equal for allIt raises questions about health. In order to provide health to anyone, the need for health workers is paramount. But who is going to become a doctor in these institutions, medical colleges? Are they becoming doctors with a sense of service? If the students are asked straightforward questions then the answer will be yes but the real picture emerges when they are on the field.
Medical College Admission Process It used to be on the basis of UG, but it is still on the same basis today. You have to pass the NEET exam. His preparation starts from the eleventh, twelfth if not from the ninth tenth. Meanwhile, a network of tuition centers has been set up to prepare the net, demanding that the child stay with them. Children get dummy admissions to get a Twelfth Certificate. These dummy admissions are the first on their mindset. These centers cost an average of Rs 4-5 lakh for two years, if they are the same Be a city If we keep in view the fee of government private at the time of admission in medical college then in government medical college also it is 15-20 lakh in terms of course, fee, hostel, mess, books-clothes etc., whereas the fee of private medical colleges only Only Rs 30-40 lakh and other expenses are different. There they also have to pay a lump sum of Rs 30-40 lakh. This is followed by private medical colleges, most of which are run by or with the participation of MLAs or MPs in government.
They meet the terms of the Medical Council Are slowly changing. On the part of the teachers, the age increase and the number and structure of some teachers have been fixed in such a way that they can work with a minimum number of teachers. Further, private colleges offer a variety of services at their level, full-time, two-day-a-week, and supportive, home-based. This truth is not hidden from anyone. This is an important aspect of what the faculty will teach.
The present government has dissolved the Medical Council of India (MCI) & now it. The National Medical Commission has come into existence. The MCI constantly monitored these institutions. Now it will be required only once for approval to open a medical college, then the institute will get a certificate from a reputed accreditation company and the advertisement of the institute will be called A +, A ++ etc. The government will conduct an exit test at the national level, about which nothing is clear yet. MBBS The status of their education can be gauged from the fact that their children's net PG. The pressure remains, which they start after admission They do not pay attention to formal education, medical practice and hospital duties. An important question in this whole scenario is what kind of doctors we are producing. Those of us who are concerned about health are holding stethoscopes, blood pressure apparatus, injections etc. in our hands, who are not wi-lling to go to classes/hospitals as well as faculty, professors, assistant professors who come two days a week. Stay the night and leave after finishing the syllabus.
Reading books, B.P. Checki-ng or some thing It is not enough to know or let's say this scene is being created by a 'degree holder' doctor who will be instrumental in the work for corporate hospitals The super-super experts will do. Speaking of one's constitutional right, there is also a gap in the provision of health facilities being created from the level of admission to medical colleges and education. At a cost of at least Rs How much can we expect?
This question is important because corporate healthcare is so expensive that even middle class families cannot afford it. 'Health for All' Health in every corner of the country, in remote areas is definitely going to be a dream in the near future. Also, the quality of health care that everyone feels is a distant dream.
