Kisan Sabha pays homage to Uday Chand

JAMMU, Sep 24: Kisan Sabha organized a special meeting of the friends of Uday Chand at Manhas Mahasabha Hall Paloura today to pay homage to Uday Chand who was president of Duggar Pradesh Party and Senior Vice President of Kisan Sabha.
Many friends of Uday Chand had gathered on the occasion. Besides paying floral tributes, they expressed their views on the life & struggles of Uday Chand. Prominent among those who spoke were: Former MLA Balwan Singh, Senior Advocate BS Manhas, President Kisan Sabha HC Jalmeria Advocate, Vice President Kisan Sabha Dr. Ghanisham Singh Charak, Mohan Singh (Gen Secy Duggar Pradesh Party), Ratinder Koul (DIG Retd), KK Koushal, Shiv Dev Singh Sushil (Dogri Writer), Subhash Sharma (Former Programme Officer Jammu Radio), PK Ganju, Mohinder Shukla, Surinder Rao Advocate, Balwant Singh, Ramankant Singh Manhas, Anita Thakur, Shanker Singh Chib, Bansi Lal Sharma Advocate, Jaswant Singh, Dewan Chand, Bharat Chand, Parshotam Manhas, Shamsher Singh Chib.
The speakers, in their addresses, recollected the progressive thinking, clean public life and continuous struggles for public causes of Uday Chand. He had to go to jails many times during student life and afterwards in many struggles which people of Jammu fought for equality and to end discrimination. He was a man of strong conviction and commitment and never liked to be closer to establishment.
Hailing from Sunderbani Rajouri, Uday Chand received his education in Jammu and spent his active life in Jammu struggles. He had strong commitment for working class people including farmers. Uday Chand's family members were also present on the occasion.
