Randhawa, others pay tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on birth anniversary

JAMMU, Sep 25: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa along with other party leaders and workers paid tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 106th birth anniversary in a function organised at Brahman Mohallah, Ward Number 5, Village Chowadhi, here.
While speaking, Randhawa said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a great philosopher and nationalist, who gave concepts of Antodya and a progressive approach to the nation. He said BJP is moving ahead on the path of Pandit Deen-dayal Upadhaya and is reaching every single citizen who is standing last in the row.
Randhawa further said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a great thinker of right-wing Hindutva ideology espoused by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was a versatile leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS), the forerunner of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"With the concepts of 'Integral humanism' & 'Antyodaya', Upad-hyaya gave a progressive approach to the Nation. These concepts were a set of his political ideology", Randhawa said, adding that his works and his principles were based on an individual's undisputed subservience to the nation as a corporate entity. "Deendayal Upadhyay was 'an excellent organiser' who laid the foundation of alternative politics which is working towards bringing the poor, deprived and exploited people into the mainstream", Randhawa said, adding that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya struggled throughout his life for the protection and conservation of India's culture and values. Among others present were Sarpanch Arshaad Bibi, Naib Sarpanch Rakesh Sharma, Sat Sharma, Bikram Singh, Pushpinder Charak, Gulshan Sharma, Darsh-ana Singh, Lamberdar Jagdev Singh, Ravi Singh, Raman Sharma, etc. Earlier, Former Legislator Vikram Randhawa along with other party leaders and workers listened to 93rd edition of 'Mann Ki Baat' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his address, the Prime Mini-ster Narendra Modi said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya taught us how Indian philosophy can guide the world even in the modern, social and political perspective.
Prime Minister also announced renaming of Chandigarh Airport on the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh as a tribute.Prime Minister also appealed to the public to observe 28th September as Amrit Mahotsav i.e birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
