Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan organized at GDC RS Pura

Jammu, Sep 26: As a part of month-long events on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, the Tobacco Control/Free Committee of Govt. Degree College R. S. Pura under the banner to celebrate "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" organized lecture on effects of substance use on families in which the resource person was Prof. Jai Mala Thakur, HOD Sociology Govt. Degree College R.S. Pura.
The programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of Principal of the college Prof. Sunil Uppal and coordinated by above mention committee consisting of convener of the committee Prof. Ahsan Ahmed and members of the committee namely Prof. Vijay Kumari and Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur. To begin with the programme commenced with welcomed address delivered by Prof. Sukhwinder Kour followed by formal lecture deliberated by the respective resource person. The resource person discussed in breath and length about the effects of substance use disorder felt by the families, and the family context holds information about how substance use disorder develop, are maintained and what can positively are negatively influence the treatment of disorder. She talked about the current developmental stage a family is in helps inform assessment of impairment and determination of appropriate interventions. Further she deliberated to the students about the negative emotional effects resulting in poor out comes for the children and adults with substance disorder. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Vijay Kumari, member of the committee.
