JAMMU, Sep 29: Bali Bhagat, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader & former minister slammed the People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti for the remarks that Kashmir has been turned into a jail and movement of fruit trucks is not being allowed out of Valley.
In a statement issued to media here today, Bali Bhagat said that after the decimation of PDP which has a negligible space in the ongoing political scenario in the Valley Mehbooba in utter frustration has fallen in the habit of making false and atrocious statements in order to gain some political space before the impending Assembly elections in J&K. He said that it is known to one and all that 1.3 crore people living in Jammu and Kashmir are enjoying full freedom as guaranteed in a Democracy. He said that people of J&K move freely not only across the Union Territory especially Kash-mir but across the nation. He said that one fails to understand the logic behind making such statements which the ground situation contradicts. He said that most probably Mehbooba thinks that people of her constituency are like dumb cattle and she can make them believe every non sense just to secure votes. Bali Bhagat said that a record number of tourists is visiting the Valley with not a single hotel being vacant during the peak tourist season in summers and despite this phenomenon of change Mehbooba is talking about the shattering of the economy of Kashmir.
