New Delhi, Sep 29: Days after being expelled by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Jammu, former Udhampur MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the national capital on Thursday.
Last week on September 23, AAP terminated Mankotia from the party for anti-party activities. "It has come to our knowledge that you are involved in anti-party activities, mainly engaging with other national and regional political parties in J-K, not engaging or participating in any of the party's political activities and not performing any task given by the party for the last three months," AAP election in-charge Harjot Singh Bains said in a letter to Mankotia.
As per the letter, Mankotia has also been charged with serious allegations of influencing AAP volunteers to join other parties and offering them positions in other parties and defaming the party on media platforms.
He joined the party in the presence of BJP National general secretary & J&K BJP Incharge Tarun Chugh, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, Union ministers Dr. Jitendra Singh and Rajeev Chandrasekhar, at Delhi party headquarters.
Welcoming him, Tarun Chugh said Mankotia is joining the BJP as he is inspired by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the most selfless leader in the world.
Ravinder Raina appreciated the decision of Balwant Singh Mankotia to join the BJP and said that the party is of the firm belief that his political and social experience will benefit the party and the people at large by working in accordance with the party principles.
