KIIT University holds mini marathon

JAMMU, Jan 29: To celebrate its Silver Jubilee Year, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Deemed to be University, held a mini marathon here today. Raveesh Mengi, President of Lakshya "The Aim" was Chief Convener of the event at Jammu.
The Marathon was flagged off today from ACM Public School Jammu by the Chief Guest, Jugal Kishore Sharma (MP- Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha), Subash Sharma (Chairman- Social Justice Commi-ttee J.M.C), Sunita Gupta (Councillor Ward No. 37), Munish Khajuria, Vikram Singh (SDPO Bakshi Nagar), Insp. Vijay Sarmal (S.H.O Janipur Police Station), Manjit Purohit (KIIT University).
Passing through various parts of Jammu West, a group of over 300 participants concluded the running at Janipur Main Road. The welcome address was given by Mr. Manjit Purohit (KIIT University.
Mr Jugal Kishore Sharma lauded the initiative and stressed upon the need to hold such awareness campaigns on various occasions. He also appreciated the role of Mr Mengi, Dr Samanta, and KIIT management for holding the mega event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Raveesh said the theme of mini marathon was to promote value of quality Education among youths. Such events underline the relevance of education, and we are grateful to KIIT University and its Founder, Dr Achyuta Samanta, for selecting Jammu also as a key venue for the marathon. Similar events have been organized by the KIIT varsity at 25 countries across the globe," he added.
