Rural Area of Jammu North will be developed on modern lines: Manhas

JAMMU, Jan 29: Former Member-Parliament (Rajya Sabha) & Ex State President Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir Shamsher Singh Manhas today inaugurated lane & by-lanes at Kot Lower-B (Garhi) Panchayat in Jammu North Assembly Constituency along with Sarpanch Hari Saran.
Speaking on the occasion, Manhas said that it was the long pending demand of the locals and people were facing great hardships due to deteriorated condition of the lanes. Manhas said an amount of 7.50 lakhs were spent on these works which were released from his MPLADS during his tenure as Member-Parliament.
He said that the development of J&K (UT) is the utmost priority of the Modi Government and in future every corner of UT will be fully developed. He said that the Modi Government is committed to the overall development of the rural areas with special focus on infrastructure development and social welfare.
He highlighted various schemes of the Modi Government for infrastructure development of Rural Area which will change the landscape in the country and help make India a developed nation.
Later, Manhas interacted with the locals and listened to their problems. The problems which were projected by the locals included, up-gradation of roads, improving drinking water, electricity, health services, sanctioning old age pensions etc. He assured them that their genuine demands will be considered.
Sarpanch Hari Saran thanked former Member-Parliament for taking keen interest in the development of his Panchayat. Promi-nent among those who were present there were Naib-Sarpanch Baisakhi Ram, Lucky Verma, Ved Parkash Sharma, Mangal Singh & Tara Singh.
