JAMMU, Feb 1: District Administration Jammu today retrieved 212 Kanal prime state land during eviction drives conducted in Jammu district.
A team of revenue officers along with police retrieved 5 Kanal land worth crores of rupees in the prime location of Village Top Sherkhania Tehsil Jammu Khas.
Similarly, 5 Kanal prime state land, encroached by a former government officer, a banquet hall owner and a timber businessman was also evacuated by the officials of the Revenue.
In another eviction drive, 141 kanal 09 marla state land was vacated in village Mandal.
Likewise, prime state land measuring 67 kanal 13 marla was retrieved at village Rajpura Tehsil Marh by the team of Revenue officials.
The district administration Ramban, in continuation of anti-encroachment drive, retrieved more than 1137 Kanal State land across eight Tehsils of the district.
In a joint anti encroachment drive, a revenue department and police team, led by Tehsildar, retrieved 301 Kanal state land in Tehsil Ramban besides demolishing illegal structures in Phalti and Chanderkote areas.
Similarly, 450 Kanal state land was vacated during a joint anti encroachment drive in tehsil Rajgarh.
As per the Revenue Department, the joint teams also demolished illegal structures build on state land besides retrieving over 1137 Kanal State land worth crores from the encroachers including 120 Kanal in Pogal-Paristan, 52 Kanal in Banihal, 100 Kanal in Khari , 59 Kanal in Ramsoo, 25 Kanal in Batote and 30 Kanal in Gool.
Monitoring the efforts of Revenue officers and other team members, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban asked them to leave no stone unturned to evict the state land from the encroachers.
Rajouri Administration has intensified anti-encroachment drive at various locations, retrieving 511 kanal state land worth crores of rupees.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, teams from the Revenue and Police Departments conducted a series of anti-encroachment drives at different locations of District Rajouri.
During the drives, 1 kanal of Prime state land was retrieved from illegal occupants on the National Highway 144A, besides demolishing illegal structures raised on the state land in Tehsil SunderBani worth crores of rupees. The drive was carried by Tehsildar Sunderbani Kapil Kant Khajuria.
Similarly, 10 Kanal state land was retrieved by the team of Tehsil Sunderbani at Village Devak, while 310 Kanal of state land was retrieved in Tehsil Teryath. Sign boards indicating the evicted land as state/government land were installed at these locations.
Tehsildar Rajouri and his team carried out a major anti-encroachment drive at villages Keri and Dharasanwala and retrieved 192 Kanal state- land from illegal possession.
The District Administration has been working on mission mode to evict the illegal occupants from the state land, and a major chunk of it has already been retrieved.
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal has passed strict directions to all Tehsildars to chalk out a comprehensive plan and intensify the eviction and demolition drives in collaboration with police to retrieve the remaining encroached land in a time bound manner.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Pandey, the teams of Revenue and Police department conducted a series of anti-encroachment drives at different locations of the district today to reclaim land from illegal encroachers.
During the day-long eviction drive, the district administration reclaimed a total of 1073 Kanal, 16 Marlas of state land. The drive also exposed some government officials involved in encouraging encroachment.
The state land retrieved includes 635 Kanal 13 Marlas in Hiranagar, 136 kanal, 07 marals in Marheen, 110 kanal in Dinga Amb, 60 kanal in Basohli, 29 Kanal, 29 Marlas in Lohai Malhar, 07 Kanal, 07 Marlas in Mahanpur and 05 Kanal in Nagri Parole.
The retrieval includes 39 kanal, 16 marlas prime land worth Rs 37 Cr 16 Lacs in Kathua tehsil, 26 Kanal , 14 marlas land in Jagatpur, 04 Kanal, 09 Marla in Changran, 04 Kanal in Chak Munsifdar, 04 Kanal in Muthi Rakwalan, 14 marlas of land in Chak Sehzada and 10 marlas of land in Logate by the teams of district administration.
The high value chunk of 49 kanal, 14 marals State land worth Rs 1.28 Cr. was also retrieved in Ramkot during the daylong eviction drive.
The district administration is continuing its efforts to take stern action against all the illegal occupants.
Continuing the onslaught against influential encroachers, District Administration Samba on Wednesday conducted a massive anti-encroachment drive to vacate prime state land at Ghagore, Vijaypur .
Around 14 kanal 10 Marlas of prime state land under the occupation of an Ex minister's father was retrieved. The outer wall of the premises which had been constructed on land was demolished.
Sign board indicating the status of land as government land was installed on the site.
A Revenue officer said that on the express directions of Deputy Commissioner Samba, encroachments by influential encroachers are being identified removed. He said that several such influential encroachers have been identified and the drive will continue.
In continuation to the anti-encroachment drive, District Administration Udhampur has decided to adopt a zero tolerance policy against encroachment on state, Kahcharai and Roshni land.
"With the commitment to adopt zero tolerance against violations, a massive anti encroachment drive has been started across Udhampur and more than 93669 kanal state land, Kahcharai and Roshni land has been retrieved from the encroachers" said Deputy Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna.
Giving Tehsil wise details, ACR, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral stated that 16290 kanal State, Kahcharai and Roshni land has been evicted in Tehsil Udhampur; 22496 Kanal in Tehsil Ramnagar; 19070 Kanal in Tehsil Chenani; 3758 kanal in Majalta; 11358 kanal in Tehsil Panchari; 5925 kanal Tehsil Latt- Marothi, 8187 in Tehsil Moungri and 11676 kanal in Tehsil Basantgarh.
The district administration has activated men and machinery on mission mode to evict the illegal occupants from the state land, Kahcharai and Roshni Land. Appreciating the tireless efforts put in by Revenue officers, the DC asked the officers to leave no stone unturned to retrieve the state land from encroachers.
