CDS visits LoC; reviews security situation, operational preparedness

SRINAGAR, Feb 2: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan reviewed security situation and operational preparedness of the troops in Kashmir, officials said on Thursday.
Accompanied by Northern Army Commander and Chinar Corps Commander, he visited forward areas and hinterland formations.
"Briefed on prevalent security situation, Op preparedness and soldier-citizen connect. He commended Chinar Warriors for their professionalism," army tweeted.
It is the first visit of CDS to Kashmir in 2023. The visit comes at a time when militants have shifted focus to Jammu. Militants carried out several attacks in Jammu division in the last few months.
