Omar presides over high-level NC meeting
'Senior leaders discuss party matters, political situation in Country, State'

Srinagar August 27, 2014: National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah presided over a high-level party meeting today. The meeting was attended by Senior National Conference leaders including NC General Secretary and Senior Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar, Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather, Senior Minister Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, Member of Parliament Mohammad Shafi Uri, Provincial President Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani and Provincial President Jammu Devender Singh Rana besides various other senior party leaders.
The NC Working President and senior party leaders discussed the political situation within the State and in the country and also deliberated upon various recent developments. The party leaders also apprised the Working President of various steps that are being taken to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. Omar Abdullah discussed the party's preparedness and plan of action for the forthcoming Assembly Elections and asked the party leaders to work in close contact with the party cadre in all three regions of the State.
The NC leaders also discussed various policies and issues concerning the common-man and reiterated NC's commitment to work tirelessly for the welfare and prosperity of the people of J&K. The National Conference leaders also reiterated the need to nurture and follow the tradition, ethos and ideology of the party and its founder Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who gave numerous sacrifices to safeguard the rights and dignity of his people. NC Working President Omar Abdullah said the party was bound in its commitment to uphold the values and ideals passed on to them by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
