Lahore: Pakistan's Punjab Assembly on Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution condemning "Indian aggression" at the International Border and appealed to the international community to take notice of the situation.
The resolution was moved in the 371-member-strong provincial assembly by the Punjab Law Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman and it was adopted unanimously.
The resolution condemned Indian army for the alleged cross-border firing that resulted in the killing of more than 10 Pakistanis including civilians, at the border villages of Sialkot.
The resolution further says: "...India is violating international laws by indulging in cross-border firing. This house appeals to the international community to take notice of Indian aggression and intervene." Opposition parities in the assembly - PPP and PML-Q - also endorsed the resolution. Punjab assembly is led by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who is also the younger brother of Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif.
India and Pakistan have been trading heavy mortar and gun fire along the International Border and LoC since October 1.
