1-day conference for BLOs’ organized

KATHUA, OCTOBER 30:- A one day conference of Booth Level Officers was organized at Government Degree College Kathua where BLOs from 65-Kathua Assembly Segment participated.
District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Kathua chaired the conference which was attended by ADC Prasanna Ramaswami G, ADDC N S Bali, and Assistant Commissioner Anshul Garg among others.
The DC imparted training to BLOs regarding enrolment of voters, establishment of polling stations, model polling stations, facilities for special voters and women, mode of distribution for ensuring 100% distribution of photo voter slips, coordination with polling parties, daily reporting system and other aspects of Assembly Elections in the district. A series of measures being taken for welfare of Booth Level Officers were also elaborated which included 65 awards instituted for best performing BLOs with 13 Awards in each assembly segment of the district to be given by the district administration; constitution of Polling Booth Area Teams (PBATs) which have started functioning in the district with officials drawn from 6 different departments for assisting and coordinating with BLOs in various activities.
The events being organised under SVEEP were also discussed in the meeting and the DC asked the BLOs to work for 100% enrolment and participation in the district. Later, a meeting and training programme was organised for flying squads static surveillance teams, Video Surveillance and Viewing Teams, Asst Expenditure Observers and other officers in presence of Returning Officers and District Election Officer. GM DIC Amarjeet Singh, Asstt Commissioner Revenue S P Rukwal and Asstt Commissioner Development Tilak Raj also imparted the training.
