Jitendra inaugurates hutments for flood affected families of Saddal

UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 24- Union Minister of State in PMO, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today inaugurated hutments for flood affected families of village Saddal-Panjar in tehsil Moungri of district Udhampur.
The Union Minister said that Saddal village will be the first village in the State of J&K which will be converted into a smarter model village. He appreciated the NGO, Love Care Foundation and different corporate houses for constructing hutments with participation of District Administration for the flood affected people of Saddal village. These huts will accommodate 26 affected families of the village. Jitendra said that this village is being developed as smart village having all modern facilities for people of Saddal which will include hospital, school, vocational training centre where courses based on plumbing, mobile repairs, computer, beautician, tailoring, electrician and other self-employment generation programmes will be run for skill development and generation of employment opportunities for young boys and girls. He said Rs 13 lakh have been released for vocational centre while Rs 50 lakh have been provided for construction of hutments, so far.
Dr. Singh assured all support from the Government to the flood affected families for their relief and rehabilitation. Later, Dr Jitender distributed solar lamps and gas stoves among the flood hit victims of the district. Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal gave a brief detail of measures being taken up by the district administration for providing relief and rehabilitation to flood affected families. She said that the victims have been temporarily accommodated in Disaster Management Building at Sui-Chakkadh area. Additional Private Secretary to MOS, M. Venkatesan, SSP Udhampur, Suleman Chowdhary, Rajnehru , Love Care foundation, all district and other senior officers besides locals were present on the occasion.
