‘Digital India Week’ programme launched in Poonch

POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani today launched "Digital India Week" programme in the district .
ADC, Mohammad Saleem Malik, ACR, Shafeeq Ahmed Choudhary, ASP, Amit Gupta, CEO PDA, Ashok Kumar, CPO, Mohd Iqbal Zarger, Adl. DIO, Ashwani Kumar besides several district officers and officials of DC office participated.
Saying that the programme will transform the society into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy, District Development Commissioner stressed upon the officers to show keen interest in understanding and implementing various components of the programme in their respective jurisdictions. Wani said that traditional processes in governance will have to give way to the modern one which can effectively meet the challenges and needs of the present day. He said IT has penetrated into our society and needs to be leveraged for e-governance to deliver public services effectively.
Earlier, in a power point presentation, Additional District Informatics Officer, Ashwani Kumar explained in detail the vision and logic behind the ambitious "Digital India" program and the roadmap for accomplishing the mission.
He also highlighted the vast benefits of the program including unique and authenticable lifelong online digital identity, mobile phone enabled participation in digital & financial space, easy access to a common service centre, shareable private space on a public cloud, digital integration across departments or jurisdictions, improving ease of doing business, making financial transactions electronic & cashless, universal digital literacy, collaborative digital platforms for participative governance besides digitization of revenue and other official records and availability of citizen entitlements on public cloud.
