DLU holds protest demonstration

Jammu: A protest was held at Press Club Jammu under the banner of Dogra Labour Union & its president Kuldeep Chalotra alleged that Govt. is giving step motherly treatment with this labour class of the state especially Jammu division.
He further said that media should convey our voice to this Govt. to take some good steps to establish a labour colony within the Municila limits. Govt. should locate the land for these poor people, Hundreds of labourers of this state with permanent resident certificate (PRC) are forced to live in slum, open, foothpaths, Juggles etc. & live like slaves. After so many years of Independence these labours are forced to live in a deteriorated condition & on other hand, acres of Govt. Land Illegally occupied by the influential persons with the help of some bureaucrats & Govt. watching it as a mute spectator. He further said that all Govt. Deptts. especially those meant for the welfare of the labourers & poor people are not doing justice with their duty, Deptt like CAPD is not issuing BPL cards to the dreserving people even old BPL lists are vanished. Files regarding the BPL people are kept in Deptt. for last 2-3 years, but the Govt. is not paying any serious attention towards it. The Director CAPD may kindly be asked to take an imediate action in this regard.
