NIA announces cash reward of Rs 5 lakh on Abu Okasha’s head

SRINAGAR, Sep 3: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is investigating the Udhampur militant attack on BSF convoy last month, has announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone who helps the agency to arrest wanted militant Abu Okasha.
Posters appeared at different places in south Kashmir, where the militants, including Mohammad Naved who was captured alive after the encounter, had stayed before leaving for Udhampur.
Two BSF personnel were killed and a dozen others were injured when Naved and another militant attacked BSF convoy at Udhampur. A militant was also killed. Later the case was handed over to NIA and about a dozen persons were arrested by the agency on the disclosure of Naveed.
The poster reads ‘WANTED BY NIA’ in case RC NO, 08/2015/NIA/DLI (Udhampur terrorist attack case). It further reads ‘Aged between 18 and 19 years, Abu Okasha is a resident of Khyber pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan’.
“The NIA announce that reward of Rs 6 lakhs for any information leading to his arrest. Your identity will be kept secret,” the poster said. Naved has identified Abu as mastermind of the attack on BSF.
