JAMMU, Sep 29: Natrang's International Theatre Talk Show featured eminent theatre, film and television actor and senior NSD graduate Shri Mukul Nag today live on the Facebook page of Natrang where he enlightened the global audience with his motivational 'Vision of Theatre'. Director Natrang, Padmashri Balwant Thakur stated that this International Talk Show of Natrang has the credit to feature eminent and prominent theatre personalities of India and abroad who have received accolades for their brilliant work and have done tremendous contribution in the field of theatre. The presence of such towering personalities at a single platform makes this Talk Show special and archival.
He narrated some interesting and inspirational anecdotes of his struggle time. As a child, he had a great impact of 'Durga Pooja' when he used to watch theatre and got attracted to it, awe-struck Mukul as a child got amazed to see how people get glued to what happens on stage and he decided to do theatre.
Persistent Mukul got selected in NSD in his 7th attempt and paved a way for success, which is a lesson for young theatre enthusiasts who get disheartened and disillusioned with refusals so early.
Mukul feels concerned that there is very less audience for Hindi theatre and desires that theatre shall be sustainable which is not dependent on grants and sponsorships, it has to be commercialized and generate larger audiences.
Mukul believes that theatre people put a lot of effort in their training which shall not go unrewarded. Advising young actors, Mukul suggests that actors should read the scripts as many times as possible as this would give a great insight to them. Speaking about his process of conceptualizing a character, he said that he tries to relate the character to himself and feeds the similarities in his sub-conscious mind which works for him. Those who are coordinating this mega online event include Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant, Suresh Kumar, Sanjeev Gupta, Vikrant Sharma, Sumeet Sharma, Aarushi Thakur Rana, Mohd. Yaseen, Gauri Thakur and Rahul Singh.
