02/10/2024
GANDHINAGAR, Oct 1: The Gujarat High Court has suspended Bharuch District Court Judge MB Ghasura in connection with a case of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). According to sources, the judge was transferred to Veraval.
As per the case details, the Bharuch police in 2022 filed a fraud case against a man. The case was being tried in the Bharuch court. Meanwhile, lawyer Salim Ibrahim Mansuri expressed his apprehension to the accused that the court may decide against him and asked a bribe of Rs5 lakh in the name of the judge to ensure a favourable verdict.
Of the total money, Rs4 lakh was to be given on August 23. Since the accused was unwilling to pay the bribe, he approached the ACB who set a trap and caught the lawyer red-handed. Based on the police report the HC suspended and transferred the judge to Veraval headquarters.
