DC reviews arrangements for Purmandal Mela, launches cleanliness drive

SAMBA, Mar 25: Deputy Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda, reviewed arrangements for three day Purmandal Mela commencing from 26th March in a meeting held, here today.
ADC Tilak Raj Sharma, CEO Surinsar Mansar Development Authority Vikas Gupta, Additional SP Raja Adil Hamid, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE and PWD besides Former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Gulchain Singh Charak and members from Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Manage ment Trust, Purmandal/ Utterbehani Shrine Committee, Dharmath Trust and other stakeholders were present in the meeting.
The DC directed the concerned for improvement in road condition from Mandal to Purmanda,. She reviewed medical, transport, parking and traffic arrangements. She directed the officers to ensure construction of temporary toilets and installation of mobile toilet vans at the venue. She informed that stalls pertaining to Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts, Handlooms and other departments shall also be established to showcase local products.
Later, a cleanliness drive was launched in Devika which saw participation of officials of district administration, local residents, members of social organizations besides students from various schools and colleges.
