Benia lifts 15th Chak Morh Title

Katra, Jun 21: Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police resident of Basantgarh (Udhampur) clinched the 5th Annual Chak Morh (Chopra Shop) Dangal Title outplaying Wrestler Satinder of Air Force in the 1st malli bout that lasted for 21 minutes at Chak Morh.
The Dangal, in which 62 bouts were played, was held under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Treasurer District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association and President of Chak Morh Dangal Committee Satish Kumar and Ashok Kumar (Shoaha).
Dangal was organized by Chak Morh Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. An expenditure of Rs. 2,50,000/- has been incurred for conduct of this one day long wrestling event.
BJP Senior Leader and State General Secretary Pawan Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers. Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Director planning Rakesh Jamwal, Project officer DRDA Udhampur Dr. Jagdish Mehra, Chunni Lal Dogra BJP Mandal Pradhan and Sub Inspector Vishal Manhas were the guests of honour. Winner of main bout wrestler Benia Min was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 71,000/- by Pawan Khajuria, Rakesh Jamwal, Shiv kumar Sharma and Satish Kumar, while runner-up wrestler Satinder got Rs. 40,000/- by Dr. Jagdish Mehra, Ashok Kumar (Shosha) and Sanjay Kumar.
The second main bout was won by Danish of Zirkapur (Chandigarh) who defeated Ajay of Landon Power House, Udhampur. Winner wrestler Danish was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- while runner-up wrestler Ajay Sharma got Rs. 7,500/-. 3rd bout was won by Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara, Jammu who defeated Teg Ali of Mallerkotla. 4th bout was won by Tinku of Rohtak who defeated Kaka of R.S Pura. 5th bout was won by Yov Raj of Zirakpur, Chandigarh who defeated Bobari of Sarore.
