JKSPYM organizes awareness program on drug abuse

JAMMU. Jun 24: On the eve of International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, J&K Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses, a ngo running a de-addiction centre and dedicated in eradication of drugs in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with GRP Katra organized awareness program on drug abuse prevention in Katra.
On the occasion SSP Ranjit Singh Sambyal along with Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Secretary JKSPYM flagged of the awareness vehicle rally carrying messages, banners and pamphlets on ill effects of drug abuse. Besides these anti-drug posters/banners have also been displayed on the roads and public places in Katra, such as Railway Station, bus stand, petrol pumps etc. Private school and Govt schools has also been covered and various pamphlets and banners distributed and displayed. Also there was interactive session with the parents of students of various schools. They were advised to establish a dialogue about drugs and its ill effects and have regular conversation on such burning issues.
Also Yatries covered under the awareness program. More than 50000 pamphlets got distributed among them and information provided on various drugs and its ill effects.
