DB directs IG traffic to file response or appear in person

Jammu, July 24: In a Public Interest Litigation regarding 'tinted glasses' and 'eve teasing' in the public vehicles have been raised, A Division Bench of State Comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar after hearing Adv Nadia Qadeer for the PIL whereas Govt Advocates Sanjeev Padha and Mehvish Shah for the State observed thattThis 'public interest litigation' is pending since 2011 in which the issues with regard to 'tinted glasses' and 'eve teasing' in the public vehicles have been raised. Though from time to time, many status reports have been filed, however, the respondents have not filed the preliminary objections till today.
When the matter was taken up today, Mr. Sanjeev Padha, lGA prays for and is granted four weeks' time by way of indulgence to file the respons, While granting four weeks for filling response, Division Bench made clear that if the response is not filed on or before the next date of hearing, IG Traffic, Jammu shall remain present before this Court on 28.8.2017.
