Court rejects bail of two alleged Narco Smugglers

Srinagar, Aug 6: 4th Additional Sessions Judge Srinagar Kamlesh Pandita rejected the bail applications of Waseem Ahmad Sheikh S/O Fojdar Sheikh R/O Kani Dewar, Hawal, Srinagar accused and Mohd. Maqbool Langoo from whom brown sugar recovered.
The allegations against the accused persons are that applicants along with other accused persons were found involved in the recovery of 250 grams of Brown Sugar which was being used for the illegal sale and purchase by the accused persons.
4th Additional Sessions Judge Srinagar Kamlesh Pandita after hearing both the sides observed that menace of drugs in the Indian society has taken roots in our culture and there is no doubt that release of accused in Narcotic Contra Band involving commercial quantity will leave an adverse impact on the psyche of the society.
That the sequester of above discussion, is that Contra Band regarding which accused are involved is of commercial quantity and the accused are not entitled to liberty of bail in view of rigor of section 37 of NDPS Act. With these observations Court rejected the bail application. JNF
