APHQ organizes workshop on IT awareness

Srinagar, Aug 17: On the directions of Addl. DGP Armed J&K L. Mohanti-IPS, a Workshop on "Information Technology Awareness" was today conducted by M.Y Kichloo SSP at Armed Police Headquarters J&K Srinagar. All the Officers and Staff Members of APHQ including DySP Jigmet Lhundop, DySP Sheikh Younis, CPO Mohd Shafi, Inspr. (Pers) Malik Idrees, Inspr. (Training) Showkat Ahmad, Inspr. (GB) Ab. Majeed attended the workshop enthusiastically.
During the workshop Mr. M.Y Kichloo threw light on the natures of Cyber Crime, Computer Crime and Cyber Laws to the participants. He also spoke on uses and abuses of Internet, ATM cloning, Data diddling, Salami attack, Illegal access to some ones’ Computer, Pornography, Web jacking, Use of Key Logger, Virus, Trojan Horses etc, Stealing of Information/ Data by Cyber Hackers. Mr. Kichloo explained preventive measures to be adopted by the Computer Operators/ Network Users in order to get rid of expected Cyber-attacks.
ASI Satesh Koul of APHQ who had recently undergone IT Awareness course in SCRB Gandhinagar Gujrat also shared his knowledge about various topics with the participants. The knowledge of the topics which he shared with the participants during the workshop include Call Spoofing, Steganography, Geotagging, phishing, Whatsapp Hacking, Facebook ID Blocking and Facebook ID tracing. On the occasion Mr. Satesh Koul also shared his knowledge with the participants about tracing of mobile Nos, IP Addresses and MAC addresses.
On the conclusion of the workshop, Mr. M.Y Kichloo SSP emphasized on the participants to remain updated about the modus operandi of prevailing Cyber hackers and advised them to remain attentive while operating Computer systems and network in the officeby following "Dos and Don'ts" in order to prevent hacking of sensitive information by the criminals/ vested interests.
