SRTC VREA hold protest demonstration

18/08/2017

Jammu, Aug 17: A demonstration was conducted on Thursday, 17th August, 2017 at Press Club Exhibition Ground, Jammu at 10.30 a.m. under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President VRS Union. The main aim of the demonstration was to reach voice to the deaf ears of J&K Govt. as the State Govt. & Transport Higher Authority as did not hear us at all and they have cheated the VRS/ GHS. It appears apparently that the State Govt. and the SRTC Management has played a foul game by giving us VRS/GHS as they till date did not cleared our dues.
They had promised us that within 60 days all the dues will be cleared one to take the VRS/GHS. We have been struggling for the same for the last more than 6 years and in this long struggle of 6 years 18 VRS/GHS employees have passed away as they could not afford proper treatment for want of funds and who is responsible for irreparable losses to the bereaved families.
“We are demanding for the implementation of 6th Pay Commission, whereas the Central Govt. has implemented 7th Pay Commission to their employees but we are demanding the benefit of 6th pay commission, which is an injustice with us. We appeal to the Chief Minister J&K State to please intervene into the matter and our long pending dues of 6th Pay Commission arrears and the total amount of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) since 1999 comes to Rs.167649497/- for which bills already prepared and are lying in the Secretariat be re'eased at the earliest; he said. In the said demonstration among others there were Dwarka Nath, Surinder Singh, Bindravan Sharma, Davinder Singh, Jasbir Singh, Deep Raj, Gulshan Singh and others were also present.
