I am very greedy and ambitious: Rasika Dugal

13/10/2017
Actor Rasika Dugal has steadily made a name for herself on every entertainment medium, be it television, films or web. Making her film debut with Anwar (2007), she went on to star in critically acclaimed films such as Qissa (2015).
Dugal feels that all mediums deserve equal attention from actors. “In acting you need to approach everything equally. Films have been my first love, because I am an old-school theatre-going romantic! I would always keep that in my life. But I also enjoyed the kind of space the web allows. There is no censorship, so you can experiment so much. Also, a lot of my work has reached out to a much wider audience through it. My short film Chutney currently has 100 million views, I had never imagined my work could reach out to so many people,” she says.
But she feels that doing television is beneficial in the long-run. “My experience has been limited with television. I was there in P.O.W.- Bandi Yudhh Ke. In a film, you shoot for about two months at the most, but on television I shot for around six months, so you get a lot of time to build your character and learn.”
The 32-year-old, who starred in the recent release Tu Hai Mera Sunday, is glad that she has been extremely busy of late, owing to the many projects she has been offered. “The last one-and-a-half years have been lovely.
There are very few times when actors can say that! I am very greedy and ambitious that way. With every project I do, I feel I can do much better,” says Rasika.
