NABARD & Surya milk promotes Milk Producers Organization in Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 13: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), an apex level banking institution in the field of agriculture and rural development in association with J&K Dairy Producers Processors and marketing coop union limited (Surya Milk) today organized one cluster level milk producers meet for promotion of Dairy Farmers Milk producers Organization in Jammu district today.
On the occasion Suraj shukla, assistant Manager, NABARD apprised that the objective of the Farmers Producers Organization is to help the farmers to increase income, scale down production cost, eliminate middle men and empower the farmers with bargaining power. He told that NABARD has sanctioned this project to Surya Milk which is a renowned name in the dairy industry of J&K. NABARD will provide a financial and technical support to this Farmers Producers Organisation as grant under PRODUCE Fund.
He further added that around two hundred dairy farmers are organized under the aegis of "Kaushal Jammu Milk Producers Company" who will be provided hand holding and capacity building support by Surya Milk.
Vikrant Dogra (Secretary, JKDCUL) while welcoming the participations appraised that J&K Dairy Producers Processors and marketing coop union limited (Surya Milk) is the largest dairy sector organization in Jammu & Kashmir in terms of volume and milk producers participation. He further said that technical know-how along with buy-back facilities of milk collected by new Farmers Producers Organization will be provided by Surya milk under the esteemed guidance or NABARD.
He said that JKDCUL is providing highest rates of milk to farmers and milk collection facilities as well and further wish to expand the operation to all parts.
Vikas Dogra, Kulbhushan Khajuria, Tajindar singh, VS kundal, Balbir Singh, Darshan Gupta, Ashwani Kumar, Babu Ram, Rakesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar and many other Milk Producers sake holders were also present and gave their valuable inputs.
