Army organises cycling expedition

Udhampur, Oct 15:To spread the message of peace, solidarity, oneness and the indomitable spirit of the soldiers of Indian army, a 412 Kms long cycling expedition "Chenab Parikrama"was organised by the army. The expedition also aimed to inculcate spirit of adventure and spread awareness amongst the masses about the 'Olive Green'.
The expedition team comprising of one Officer, one Junior Commissioned Officer and 10 Jawans was flagged in by the Commander 9 Sec Rastriya Rifles at Kishtwar on 15 Oct 2017, marking the culmination of the grand extravaganza. The team has completed the total distance of 412 Kms in 10 days.
The route for the said expedition was from Dharmund to Kishtwar via PadriGali, Gulabgarh and Sansari. This expedition traversed across one of the most treacherous motorable roads of India.
The expedition was essential for tenacity, fitness and comradeship of the soldiers.
It also gave exposure to the soldiers in facing new challenges in life, giving a boost to their morale and imbibed in them team spirit.
This mission, with an aim to propagate & strengthen national integration, peace and harmony was a symbolic of adventure, courage and fortitude of Indian army soldiers.
