Mild intensity quake hits Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Dec 7: A mild intensity earthquake was felt in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region early on Thursday morning.
A Met department spokesman said an earthquake of 5.4 magnitude occurred at 0459 hrs in the region, including Ladakh and Kashmir.
He said the coordinates of the epicenter was felt at 35.5 N Latitude and 77.6 E Longitude, 35 kms in depth near Leh in Jammu and Kashmir and Xingjiang border.
There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
