Bhat chairs Petitions Committee meet

JAMMU, Dec 7: A meeting of the Committee on Petitions of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held under the Chairmanship of MLC, Saif-ud-din Bhat, here today. Legislators, G N Monga and Sham Lal Bhagat attended the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held regarding all 14 petitions, the Chairman informed the committee that the grievances of the youth related to the petition no. 1 in today's agenda have been redressed by the concerned authorities for which they have thanked the Committee.
The Committee thereafter discussed all other 14 Petitions pending for disposal before the committee including that of some fresh ones. The Committee expressed its displeasure upon the authorities for not responding the directions, communications issued by the Council Secretariat. The Committee desired that the authorities be directed to furnished requisite information without any delay failing which, they will be called personally before the committee in its next meeting. It was also directed that an advertisement notice be got published in all leading newspapers for general awareness of public to approach the petitions committee, if they have any grievances related to Government, Semi Government, Public Undertaking or Private firms subject to the conditions that such matters are not sub judicious or are service matters. Special Secretary, Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Wani, Deputy Secretary Ali Mohammad Rawat and Senior Officers/ Officials of Council Secretariat were present in the meeting.
